Running around, fuss and confusion are faithful companions of New Year’s Eve. And I want to spend them with feeling, sense and arrangement: calmly finish things, take stock and go into a well-deserved rest mode. Here are five points that will help you avoid the fuss and get exactly what you need at the end of the year.
We clean up the “tails”
Take a look at your list of tasks and choose from them those that must be completed before the end of the year. Write them down step by step and schedule time in your diary. Do not plan more than 2-3 important tasks per day. If there are too many of them, you risk falling into confusion and procrastination and end up doing nothing.

Not all tails need to be cleaned, some just need to be cut off. Take a look at your to-do list again and ask yourself: what can you NOT do?
If some activity requires a lot of effort and brings little result, feel free to cross it out or entrust it to someone.
Give up what you will never succeed in. Cross out the things you hate but think you should do.
Don’t do something just because other people expect it from you. Social pressure is tiresome and inconsistent. Free yourself from unimportant things that are not related to your goals and values.

Diary “Magic of the morning”
Reserve time in advance for the most important things for the year ahead. This should include not only work, but also family and social life. Reserve the repeating time slots and add the note “Do not delete!” to each. These cells should be filled with high-value events or your favorite things, such as:
– Date days / evenings at home / time with family / going to the cinema;
– trips, excursions and school activities;
– work on vision and strategy, planning;
– health-related activities, going to the gym, as well as your main hobbies;
– meetings with key employees;
– training and self-improvement;
– working with key reports.
In the new diary, book time for important things in advance
This technique is perhaps one of the most effective for proper time management.
If you plan all these tasks a year in advance and set them to repeat every week, month, or year, then all other tasks will have to be distributed over the remaining time. If you do not do this, your life will be filled with routine and “turnover”; you will not have time for any of the above – and then you will be overloaded and dissatisfied.
